On Sunday we were already called at 5:45 A.M. so we were ready at 6 o clock to go for another safari, a morning safari. After what we had seen yesterday we had some expectations but we were already happy with what we saw yesterday.

Because we went with the boat yesterday we were going with the Jeep today. We had a Jeep of eight persons including a driver and guide. We left at 6:10 heading for the forest. It was still very dark when we left and there was a bit of fog hanging in the air. It was more difficult to see animals because of the fog, but there were lots of deers to see. But the driver didn’t always stop for them.

So the first few things we saw were a lot of deers and some monkeys in the trees. You could clearly see that the animals were used to the sound of the motors. They didn’t run away when the Jeep approached them.

Because we didn’t see a lot at first we drove back to get to another path in to the forest. While driving back there was a predatory bird sitting in the tree. We also saw a peacock, apparently they are very very famous here in India although I don’t really know what is the reason for this.

After we took the other path we only saw more and more deers. A few apes high in the bushes and more deers. But once we arrived close to a group of deers the Jeep stopped and we sat there for 20 minutes. Afterwards we heard that the guide saw a tiger in the bushes, but he didn’t want to show his face.

We drove further and searched for some more animals but it seemed like they were hiding for us, although this is very difficult for an elephant. After 3 hours we needed to drive back to the park where we stayed. On our way back we saw a cattle of very large caws. We needed to wait for them because they were crossing the road.

Although we didn’t see very large and special animals we still enjoyed it because the forest looked very nice. And we saw a lot of deers and apes. We saw the sun rising through the trees, it was just very very beautiful.

When we came back at the park we had lunch. They told us it was a continental, but it wasn’t very continental except for the toast and egg. Sadly, we had to leave after lunch otherwise there would be a possibility to miss our flight.

So we had to drive back for another 5 hours before reaching Bangalore again. On our way we asked our taxi driver to stop at a rice field so we could take some pictures of it.

Just after Mysore he stopped at a rice field next to the highway. When looking to the left you saw traffic with a lot of noice and when looking right you saw the rice fields. It was very weird to see this because we don’t have rice fields in the Netherlands and normally fields aren’t next to the highway in the Netherlands.

Our taxi driver told us that the trees next to the rice fields where banana fields. I didn’t know they also grow there, but only very small bananas grow here. The big ones only grow in South America.

We drove further but we needed to stop again. The taxi was making a weird noice; takatakataka. First our taxi driver told us to weight for ten minutes because he thought the motor was overheated. So we waited and drove further again. The noice was still there, but then I pulled away the cloth between the window ,which the taxi driver put there to block the sun, and the sound was suddenly gone. Problem fixed.

At 4 P.M. we arrived at our hotel. We went for some more sunbathing next to the swimming pool. We had a drink and I watched some tv.

We went for dinner in the hotel and we ate a chicken burger. After dinner we needed to prepare everything for take off. Because at 11 P.M we left the hotel heading for the airport. Where we arrived at 11:45 P.M. We had some food at the airport before leaving to the Netherlands at 2:50 A.M.

It was a very long flight because I couldn’t really sleep in the airplane. But after 10 hours and 45 minutes the wheels of the plane touched the ground of Schiphol. We had landed.

What was very disappointing was the fact that we needed to wait for our luggage for almost 20 minutes. This caused missing the first train home. So we bought a sandwhich at the airport for breakfast. We took the train to Shertogenbosch and finally to Oss. Where my mom was waiting to drive us home and see our family again. At 11:30 A.M. we were back home again after a very very nice, surprising and wonderful trip to India.
