10 Februari 2018 | India, Bangalore

The weekend started so it was time to discover India and especially Bangalore. I had been really looking forward to the weekend because I was excited to see more of India, like culture, environment, etc.

Because we were still a bit tired of the jet lag we woke up at 9:30 A.M. and had breakfast. We saw while having breakfast that the weather was very nice outside. So after breakfast we were going to the swimming pool.

We lay on a sun bed near the swimming pool and sometimes swam a bit. The water was very cold but the weather was nice. More as thirty degrees. But we also wanted to discover Bangalore.

So at 12:30 we left heading for Bangalore palace. We had an audio tour with some more information about the palace and who had lived there, how the rooms were used, etc. The castle was very nice and big, but it is a pity that the castle is not in a good condition. In the Netherlands it would have been renovated already but here in India this is different.

We just walked around there and also visited the garden laying next to it. This garden is for Indian people very nice, and we also enjoyed this.

When we had seen the all of it we went to some parks called the Cubbon park and the LalBagh park. Those parks were in the middle of the city but they were still of a very big size. That was amazing to see, Bangalore was also called the tree city because there are lots of trees here.

So we enjoyed our walk in these parks, for example we saw a lot of squirrels. But when you look ten meters ahead you see one big trash of plastic laying in the park. It is disappointing to see this because it makes the park less beautiful.

What surprised me a lot is that a lot of people wanted to make a selfie with us, probably because they haven’t seen western people that much or that white of skin. So it was really strange, but it was also bothering me a bit that everyone is looking at you when you pass.

In the evening we ate at another restaurant at the top of a roof, only this time it was only located on the tenth floor. The food was good and when we were finished we went back to our hotel and finally went to bed.
